My Fair Lady
My Fair Lady is a musical with music by Frederick Loewe and book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. It is based on the 1913 play, Pygmalion, and is a critically acclaimed, heartfelt and witty show about transformation, gender politics, and class. The show centers around Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower seller who peaks the interest of professor and phonetician, Henry Higgins. He makes a wager with one of his colleagues that in 6 months, he can transform Eliza to pass as a duchess at an embassy ball. Through giving her speech and etiquette lessons to mold her into a proper lady, he develops a deep care for her. Even though the ending of the show is left ambiguous, it is adored for being an extremely clever and one of the most romantic shows of all time.
"A splendiferous layer cake with a bittersweet core, My Fair Lady is a dazzling Broadway revival."

changes and grows over time.”
