Starmania

Starmania is the most famous and beloved French-Canadian Rock Opera with award-winning music by Michel Berger and book and lyrics by Luc Plamondon. Starmania was originally written in 1976 and took the French market by storm. The first and only revival premiered in 2019 in Paris at La Seine Musicale, and sold out immediately. This stunning Arena Production is directed by Thomas Jolly, and is a spectacular contemporary reinvention of the French-Canadian Rock Opera.

Starmania is set in the futuristic city of Monopolis where the world has become a single country and neon lights have replaced the sun. Many people live underground. It is a chaotic time. Through a gorgeous score and beautiful lyrics, the show recounts three love stories set in parallel, watching them take shape and come undone as the residents of Monopolis chase fame on a reality TV program called Starmania. This futuristic city, Monopolis, is on the brink of change and the precipice of a new election.

Thomas Jolly is a visionary artist, and in addition to his breathtaking work on Starmania, he is also the Director of the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Michel Berger, the Composer, was a leading figure of France's pop music scene, and Luc Plamondon, Book and Lyrics, wrote many other famous pieces including Notre Dame de Paris.

Plans are underway for an Asian Arena tour in 2026 and 2027.
